Midnapore Municipality

Midnapore Municipality was constituted in the year 1865 and is one of the oldest municipalities in West Bengal.

The Municipality presently consists of 25 Wards and provides various civic services including Water Supply, Public Health, Sanitation, Holding Tax Collection, Trade License, Building Plan Approval, Solid Waste Management and Urban Development.

According to the 2011 Census, Midnapore has a population of approximately 1,69,127 with a literacy rate of around 75%. The municipal area covers 18.65 Sq. Km.

The Municipality continuously works towards improving civic infrastructure, digital governance, clean environment and better public services.
